Abdominal Detox Massage in Paris — Chi Nei Tsang in English

Mains posées à plat sur l'abdomen, le geste de départ de l'automassage du ventre

Looking for an abdominal detox massage in Paris, with a therapist who speaks English? I offer Chi Nei Tsang, the Taoist belly massage, combined with gentle work on the visceral fascia, the living tissue that wraps and connects your abdominal organs. Sessions take place in my two practices in central Paris, entirely in English.

What is Chi Nei Tsang?

Chi Nei Tsang (pronounced chee nay tsang) means « working the energy of the internal organs ». It is a massage of the abdomen that comes from the Taoist tradition of China. In this tradition, the belly is seen as the centre of the body: the place where we digest food, but also stress and emotions.

In English it is often called abdominal detox massage. Let me be clear about that word: « detox » here refers to the traditional idea of helping the belly let go of what it holds, physically and emotionally. It is not a medical detoxification; that job belongs to your liver and kidneys. What clients describe after a session is a softer, lighter belly, deeper breathing and a calmer mind.

My approach: Chi Nei Tsang and visceral fascia work

I am a fascia therapist trained in the Danis Bois method, and a certified Chi Nei Tsang practitioner. I combine both. Your abdominal organs are held in place and connected by thin layers of fascia: the peritoneum, the mesentery, the attachments to the diaphragm. These tissues are meant to glide with every breath. Stress, sitting all day, shallow breathing or old scars can make them lose some of that freedom.

My touch is slow and precise. I rest my hands, wait for the tissue to respond, and follow the movement that comes, never forcing. This is what I call the Sphère viscérale method: working the belly through its fascia, at the body’s own pace.

Who comes to see me

  • A tense or bloated belly: slow digestion, discomfort after meals, a belly that never really relaxes.
  • Stress that knots the stomach: a tight solar plexus, short breath, that « knot in the stomach » feeling.
  • A period of change: moving to Paris, a new job, after childbirth, fatigue, when you need to land again in your body.
  • Curiosity: many people simply want to experience this unique massage while they are in Paris.

How a session works

  1. Talking: we discuss what brings you, your digestion, how you feel, and any medical condition I should know about.
  2. Breathing: a few guided breaths to settle and prepare the belly.
  3. The massage: a deep, enveloping abdominal massage with plant oils, always adjusted to your sensations. You stay lightly dressed; only the belly is uncovered.
  4. Resting: a quiet moment to integrate before you go back to your day.

Come with an empty stomach, or at least two hours after a meal. Wear comfortable clothes.

Is abdominal massage safe?

For most people, yes: the massage is gentle and always adapted to what you feel. Some areas may feel tender at first; you stay in control of the pressure. It is a wellbeing practice, not a medical treatment, and it does not replace a doctor’s advice.

It is not suitable during pregnancy (unless specifically adapted), in the weeks following abdominal surgery, with a fever, an acute inflammation, a hernia, or an unexplained abdominal pain. If you have a serious medical condition, please check with your doctor first, and tell me about it before the session.

Frequently asked questions

Is the session really in English?

Yes, from the first conversation to the end of the session.

How many sessions do I need?

One session already lets you feel the difference. If you live in Paris and want to work on a long-standing tension, a few sessions a couple of weeks apart are usually more helpful. We decide together, with no obligation.

Does it hurt?

No. The touch is deep but slow and enveloping. If an area is sensitive, I adjust immediately.

Will it make my belly flat?

Massage does not burn fat. A relaxed belly that breathes well often looks and feels less bloated, but that is about comfort, not weight loss.
